How to Setup Packet Tracer on macOS Mojave
macOS Mojave 10.14 had released on September 24, 2018, as an updated version of macOS High Sierra. And the latest version of the Mojave is 10.14.6.
Under normal circumstances, you cannot run the Cisco Packet Tracer network simulator on a Mac because this software developed for Windows and Linux systems.
However, there are several different ways to run Windows programs on a Mac. You can run Packet Tracer or another Windows-compatible program on Mac OS using one of the PlayOnMac and Wine programs.

How to Use Packet Tracer in Mac OS Mojave
To install Packet Tracer on Apple Mac OS X, first, click here to download the .dmg setup file to your computer, and then follow the steps below to install it.
Double-click the DMG file you downloaded to the macOS desktop to mount the image file.
Select the Do not warn me option when opening this disk image and click the Open button.
Click Continue in the Packet Tracer setup wizard.
Proceed in the same way by selecting I accept the license agreement.
Click Install to start the installation.
Please wait while installing the Cisco simulator on your macOS operating system.
After the wizard completes the installation, click Done.
When the installation is complete, a folder named Cisco Packet Tracer will be created in Applications. Display this folder and run it by double-clicking on the icon of the program.
When you save your projects in Cisco software, they will be saved to the location shown in the image below.
Wait while opening the Packet Tracer.
In this step, you must log on to Cisco to use all the features of Packet Tracer. If you do not have an account, log in to the program as Guest.
After clicking Guest Login, you can open the program by clicking the Confirm Guest button after 15 seconds!

How to Run Cisco Simulator on macOS Mojave Using Wine
To run a Windows-compatible software on your Mac, you must first install Wine. Click on the image below to install Wine on macOS 10.14 .
Download the Windows-compatible Packet Tracer program to your computer and extract the zip file to the folder and double-click the .exe file to start the installation.
When the Wine program opened automatically, click the Go button to install it on the Prefix you created.
Accept the license agreement in the PT installation window and click Next.
Leave the Packet Tracer installation location at the default location and click Next.
Leave the Start Menu Folder setting for PT as default and click Next.
Select Create a desktop shortcut and click Next.
Click Install to start the installation.
Wait while copying the files required for the Packet Tracer.
Once the installation is complete, select Launch Cisco Packet Tracer and click Finish to start the program.
Your network design projects that you created on Packet Tracer will be saved in the following location. You can change this path in Options / Preferences to save PKT files in a different location.
Wait while the Cisco Packet Tracer is starting up on your Mac.
If you have a Netacad account , you can log in to the following window. Click Guest Login to log in to the Packet Tracer.
After 15 seconds, click the Confirm Guest button.
After installing the Cisco network simulator, you can check the version of the program in Help / About.

How to Build Packet Tracer on macOS High Sierra using PlayOnMac
To install Packet Tracer 7.1 / 7.2 using PlayOnMac on one of the earlier versions of Mac OS X, you can follow the steps below.
Double-click the PlayOnMac that you downloaded to your Mac to start the installation.
Drag and drop PlayOnMac to MacOS Applications.
Wait while copying PlayOnMac into Applications.
After copying is complete, remove the image file.
Now run PlayOnMac on your High Sierra system.
Click the Yes button to confirm to send the OS version and graphics card model information to the developers of this software.
Click Next to install the required XQuartz program for PlayOnMac.
In the XQuartz window, select Please download XQuartz for me and click Next.
Downloading the XQuartz program over the Internet.
Click Continue to start the setup and install the program.
XQuartz installation successfully completed.
Now to install Packet Tracer, click Install a program on PlayOnMac.
Click Install a non-list program.
After you have read the installation process, continue with Next.
In the window that states that PlayOnMac is not related to WineHQ, click Next.
In the Manual Installation window, select Install a program in a new virtual drive and click Next.
Type a name for the program to be installed.
Leave the options in the following window as default and click Next.
Wine installation required for PlayOnMac starts.
Downloading Wine Mono …
Click on the Install button to start the Wine Gecko installation.
Click the Browse button and select the .EXE file.
Select the Packet Tracer.exe setup file and click the Open button.
After the Packet Tracer installation wizard starts, click Next.
Once the installation is complete, select PacketTracer7.exe as below to create a shortcut to your macOS desktop and click Next.
After creating the desktop shortcut, delete the Packet Tracer.ink file.
Double-click the Packet Tracer desktop shortcut open it.
Launching the Cisco network simulator software.
After successfully installing Packet Tracer using PlayOnMac, you can check the version of the program in Help / About.
